About
My name is Beatriz Gomes Coutinho, I'm 27 years old, I have a degree in Journalism by Faculdade Cásper Líbero (2019) and I'm a specialist in journalistic coverage of games and esports.
Until March of 2024 I've worked as a reporter at IGN Brasil, the largest gaming and pop culture website in the country, where I did daily coverage of news, gaming and esports events, producing reports, reviews, previews and video presentations. In Brazil, IGN belongs to the Webedia group, within which I also worked at MGG Brasil, a site where I dedicated exclusively to daily coverage of the esports scene.
For IGN Brasil and MGG Brasil I covered major events such as: Gamescom (in person in 2023), Comic Con Experience São Paulo (2017-2023), Brasil Game Show (2017-2023), Brazilian League of Legends Championship (CBLOL), Rainbow Six Siege Pro League, ULT (Brazilian League of Legends reality show), among others.

Into the esports scene, I also was a judge for the Prêmio Esports Brasil (2019-2022) and taught five editions of the Free Course in Esports Journalism at Faculdade Cásper Líbero (2020-2023), covering topics such as: basic journalism, SEO, the relationship between esports and politics, diversity and inclusion, betting, regulation of the scene in Brazil, entering the job market, as well as introducing students to an academic perspective on esports, so that the production of new academic works on the subject grows even more in the country.
During college, I did a series of papers focused on topics such as behavior, feminism, citizenship, entertainment and a Final Paper about esports, entitled: "It's just a game, they said: The extension of the discourse of work in the journalistic coverage of esports". I also worked voluntarily for two years as a reporter for Her Campus Cásper Líbero, an international website produced by female university students from different countries. There, I wrote about behavior, feminism and pop culture.
